WHO ARE WE? CHRISTCHURCH CHAIRS AGAINST CHOPE

We are Christchurch Chairs Against Chope, a group of people who represent the many in our area who feel poorly represented by our local MP, Christopher Chope. We're campaigning because we can't stand for it any longer. We want people to learn more about the voting record of our MP and we believe that having such a 'safe seat' (with one of the largest majorities in the country) means that our MP has regularly voted in ways which don't represent the opinions of the people he serves. We don't think Chope should be sitting pretty come the 12th December.

Many people who live in the Christchurch constituency, even those who have voted for and campaigned for the Conservative party all their lives find it impossible to support him. In the words of his own party member "it appears he's trying to block bills to protect women which is not a popular thing. He's an old dinosaur". Many of us don't think we should take poor representation sitting down.

We have created 28 chairs, one for each day of the campaign from when the candidate list is announced on the 14th November. He shouldn't just be handed the seat of power. If you object to upskirting and FGM, unseat Chope. If If you're worried about paying every time to see your GP, unseat ChopeIf you're concerned about climate change, unseat Chope.

These 'safe seats', all with individual messages will be appearing around the constituency throughout the course of the election campaign. We hope you see them. We hope they make you smile. We hope they encourage you to vote chairfully.
